Mcafee Endpoint Security and Agent software Installation


Steps to install or upgrade the Mcafee Endpoint security software:


Step1:

  1. Stop any existing anti-virus or malware software that you might had installed on your system before you run the Mcafee software installation(E.g.  Windows defender for Win10) .
  2. To stop Window Defender in Window 10 OS, do the following
    1. Select Start> Settings> Update & Security> Windows Security> Virus & threat protection> Manage settings> Switch Real-time protection to Off

Step2:

Mcafee for  Windows OS: 

  1. Down the installation package from a web browser HERE.
  2. Right-click the downloaded .exe file and select ‘Run as administrator’. Wait for the installation to complete (the installation is using silent installation mode, so you will only need to run it once. if you try to run the installation package multiple times, you will get the warning message saying "File cannot be created").
  3. It will take about 6 minutes to complete the installation. After the installation complete, a message will pop up on the screen. Click "OK" to complete the installation.
